Merge Upstream's stable 3.0.21 branch into msm-3.0
This consists 814 commits and some merge conflicts.
The merge conflicts are because of some local changes to
msm-3.0 as well as some conflicts between google's tree and
the upstream tree.

Sysfs files are not world writable. Allowing only
root to write to sysfs files to keep non-privileged
process from change the power policy.

The MDM device already supports sending remote wakeup signaling over
HSIC during normal bus auto-suspend. However, this feature is
explicitly suppressed when the kernel enters system-wide suspend.
This fix allows the device to continue to send resume signaling in
order to wake the kernel out of suspend.

usbnet driver supports ethernet mode by default. Since ethernet header
is 14 bytes therefore driver makes IP header 4-byte aligned to avoid
performance hit due to IP header accesses from linux network stack becomes
unaligned.
In raw IP mode, IP header is 4-byte aligned as there is no ethernet header.
Hence there is no need for 4-byte IP header alignment. This improves the
embedded rmnet throughout on rx data path.
While testing peak throughput using iperf on downlink direction, this patch
improves the performance from 56Mbps to 99Mbps when 100Mbps was pushed.

A usbnet subdriver must implement the manage_power callback in order
to fully support autosuspend. This allows for the device to be
suspended when there is no active traffic, and USB remote wakeup
is used to signal a resume to the host.
Remove calls to usb_autopm_get/put from rmnet_usb_ctrl_start_rx and
rmnet_usb_ctrl_write_cmd as these functions are only (or should be)
called when the device is already active.

Reads performed on rmnet control devices get blocked on wait queue.
Currently, reads get unblocked only when read response is received
from mdm9x15. Hence during mdm9x15 disconnect unblock reads to return
error to QMI channels.

Embedded rmnet driver is setting skb protocol to ethernet link layer
protocol, which causes the IP stack to drop the packets if it is set
to raw IP link layer protocol mode. Hence set the SKB protocol based
on the RMNET link layer protocol mode.

At this point if skb->len happens to be 2, the subsequant skb_pull(skb, 4)
call won't work and the skb->len won't be decreased and won't ever reach 0,
resulting in an infinite loop.
With an ASIX 88772 under heavy load, without this patch, rx_fixup() reaches
an infinite loop in less than a minute. With this patch applied,
no infinite loop even after hours of heavy load.

mdm9x15 default composition changed from 0x9001 to 0x9048 to include
new serial interfaces and additional rmnet interfaces. Hence update the
PID for mdm_bridge, diag_bridge, embedded rmnet drivers to support new
composition.

Embedded rmnet usb host driver will be used to communicate with modem
devices having rmnet interface. This driver works as pass through layer
for control and data path communication. Driver currently supports device
with product id: 0x9034 and vendor id : 0x05c6.

The AX88772B uses only 11 bits of the header for the actual size. The other bits
are used for something else. This causes dmesg full of messages:
asix_rx_fixup() Bad Header Length
This patch trims the check to only 11 bits. I believe on older chips, the
remaining 5 top bits are unused.

The cdc_ncm driver still has a few places where stack variables are
passed to the cdc_ncm_do_request function. This triggers a stack trace in
lib/dma-debug.c if the CONFIG_DEBUG_DMA_API option is set.
Adjust these calls to pass parameters that have been allocated with
kzalloc.

Executing cmd 'rmmod rtl8150' does not return(if your device connects
to host), the root cause is tasklet_disable() causes tasklet_kill()
block, remove it from rtl8150_disconnect().

Fix a misusage of the struct usb_cdc_notification to pass arguments to the
usb_control_msg function. The usb_control_msg function expects host endian
arguments but usb_cdc_notification stores these values as little endian.
Now usb_control_msg is directly invoked with host endian values.

This module and a bunch of dependancies are getting loaded on several
of laptops I have (probably picking up the mobile broadband device),
that have nothing to do with zaurus. Matching by class without
any vendor/device pair isn't the right thing to do here, as it
will prevent any other driver from correctly binding to it.
(Or in the absense of a driver, will just waste time & memory by
unnecessarily loading modules)

Introducing driver for the network port of Samsung Kalmia based USB LTE modems.
It has also an ACM interface that previous patches associates with the "option"
module. To access those interfaces, the modem must first be switched from modem
mode using a tool like usb_modeswitch.
As the proprietary protocol has been discovered by watching the MS Windows driver
behavior, there might be errors in the protocol handling, but stable and fast
connection has been established for hours with Norwegian operator NetCom that
distributes this modem with their LTE/4G subscription.

catc_ctrl_run() calls usb_submit_urb() with GFP_KERNEL, while it is called from
catc_ctrl_async() and catc_ctrl_done() with catc->ctrl_lock spinlock held.
The patch replaces GFP_KERNEL with GFP_ATOMIC.
Found by Linux Driver Verification project (linuxtesting.org).

Like other mobile broadband device ethernet interfaces, mark the LG
VL600 with the 'wwan' devtype so userspace knows it needs additional
configuration via the AT port before the interface can be used.

The USB protocol this driver implements appears to require 2 bytes of
padding in front of each received packet. This used to be equal to
the value of NET_IP_ALIGN on x86, so the driver abused that constant
and mostly worked, but this is no longer the case. The driver also
mixed up the URB and packet lengths, resulting in 2 bytes of junk at
the end of the skb.
Introduce a private constant for the 2 bytes of padding; fix this
confusion and check for the under-length case.

BMCR_RESET rather than for MII_BMCR (the register address, which also
happens to be zero).

This updates the network drivers so that they don't access the
ethtool_cmd::speed field directly, but use ethtool_cmd_speed()
instead.
For most of the drivers, these changes are purely cosmetic and don't
fix any problem, such as for those 1GbE/10GbE drivers that indirectly
call their own ethtool get_settings()/mii_ethtool_gset(). The changes
are meant to enforce code consistency and provide robustness with
future larger throughputs, at the expense of a few CPU cycles for each
ethtool operation.
All drivers compiled with make allyesconfig ion x86_64 have been
updated.
Tested: make allyesconfig on x86_64 + e1000e/bnx2x work

This makes sure that when a driver calls the ethtool's
get/set_settings() callback of another driver, the data passed to it
is clean. This guarantees that speed_hi will be zeroed correctly if
the called callback doesn't explicitely set it: we are sure we don't
get a corrupted speed from the underlying driver. We also take care of
setting the cmd field appropriately (ETHTOOL_GSET/SSET).
This applies to dev_ethtool_get_settings(), which now makes sure it
sets up that ethtool command parameter correctly before passing it to
drivers. This also means that whoever calls dev_ethtool_get_settings()
does not have to clean the ethtool command parameter. This function
also becomes an exported symbol instead of an inline.
All drivers visible to make allyesconfig under x86_64 have been
updated.

Resubmit interrupt URB if device is open. Use a flag set in
usbnet_open() to determine this state. Also kill and free
interrupt URB in usbnet_disconnect().

The default maximum transmit length for NCM USB frames should be so
that a short packet happens at the end if the device supports a length
greater than the defined maximum. This is achieved by adding 4 bytes
to the maximum length so that the existing logic can fit a short
packet there.

Some RNDIS devices don't respond on the control channel until polled
on the status channel. In particular, this was reported to be the
case for the 2Wire HomePortal 1000SW and for some Windows Mobile
devices.
This is roughly based on a patch by John Carr <john.carr@unrouted.co.uk>
which is currently applied by Mandriva.
